Update 10/7/2010 - Ron and I just returned 3 months ago from a great adventure andNadine & Ron in Lima the best thing we have ever done together.  We served as missionaries in the Lima Peru Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) for 23 months.  There was much joy in our work and we also grew to love the people of Peru with all our hearts.   We even learned a little Spanish as a natural part of our work.

On the side, I was able to teach "keyboard" classes to several of the young women in our church so that they could play church hymns for the members to sing at our Sunday meetings.  Our family of 3 children and 15 grandchildren were most supportive of our mission and we hope to go again someday!  We were surprised when we came home in June with the news that our daughter Trisha was expecting another baby next February.  With our youngest grandchild being four, we thought we were through with grandchildren but evidently not.

We were able to travel all over Peru and really get to know the country, its cultures and its peoples.  We visited every major city and attraction, including Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and the "floating" islands, the Lord of Sipan museum (rivals the King Tut find in Egypt), the Ballestras (the "Galapagos" of Peru), Chan Chan (largest adobe city in the world) and the Amazon jungle.  We found a great way to spend a part of our retirement...highly recommended!

3/5/2007 - Ron is fully retired now and we are busier than ever!  Isn't that how it goes?  We love it here in Blackfoot, ID.  The community is great and our home is unique and fits us perfectly...on the edge of the country (horses and roosters and SPACE) with the benefits of the city (water, sewer, etc.).  Ron has almost completed his dream, a woodshop building in the back of our lot.  That should keep him busy!

We have 15 grandchildren now and we aren't done yet, I'll bet...11 girls and 4 boys.  Being grandparents is the best!

Update 2/25/2005 -we did get back to the islands in October to celebrate our 40th anniversary and it was a wonderful trip!  We went to Kauai for the first time and made a repeat trip to the Big Island which we love.  We also spent a week on Oahu and passed Radford High School several times and were amazed at the changes that have taken place in the area.  The islands are still incredibly beautiful and we are always filled with nostalgia and a longing to stay each time we visit.  We found all the places we used to live although I'm sure one of them should have been condemned when we lived in it as young marrieds!  We plan to be back for our 50th also.  Interesting that Suzanne Bedke and Bruce Greene got reacquainted on the website....

We added two more grandchildren this year, making 10 girls and 3 boys now, from ages 13 to 2 1/2 months.  Ron is still working part-time and was about to retire but it looks like the job still needs him too much to leave for awhile.  We hope it will be soon though.  We hope to see dad and two of our children and 7 of our grandchildren for Christmas, so the house will be full and busy.

I have lost my Teton views but love our "new" home.  Location is much better and we had no ties to the valley anymore.

After a year at BYU in Provo, Utah, I married my Senior Year sweetheart from Hickam AFB, Ronald A Ramirez, and next year we will celebrate 40 years together.  We moved around in the Air Force for 24 years until he retired in 1986.  We have raised 3 children who have given us 11 grandchildren so far. That has been my greatest joy in life. I worked as an RN for 9 years after getting my Associates Degree in 1986. The last 9 years Ron and I ran an insurance agency together here in Driggs which has been very successful, hence my "retirement" from the work world but I find that I am busier than ever! (My husband dabbles heavily in politics--county commissioner at present.) We live in mountain country, calling the Grand Tetons our bedroom window view.  Not sure I could live in the big city again!  Have returned to Hawaii three times since leaving after graduation--first two years of marriage (1965-67), 1972 and 1990.  Plan to come back for our 40th wedding anniversary in August, 2005.  Hope a reunion will be going on!  I don't remember that many of you but 40 years is a long time.
