After graduation, I went to Chico State University in CA - graduated and became ping-pong ball #15. Yes, I did get drafted and became a Sgt in the Infantry. Yes, that meant I was in the front! I can attest to the fact that the most exciting airplane trips are in a helicopter with both guns blazing!! I am really happy that everyone who shot at me, missed! After enjoying camping out in the jungle, I got to send out mortar rounds. After Vietnam, I went back to college and then taught school - 7th, 8th, and 9th grades - that was fun! I came to the Radford 10 year reunion in June, 1974 at the Sheraton-Waikiki - had so much fun, I decided to stay - called my principal, quit my job, bought a boat, and sailed around the islands. I moved to Maui in 1975 and have been here ever since. I work in a hotel in Wailea. On Labor Day, 1998, I was in the canoe that won the gold medal for 45 & over in the Queen Lilioukalani race. Also in '98, I battled in the Molokai Channel Race with the Kihei Canoe Club (have been in the club for 20 years). For those who remember my mom, she is doing great - works out at the gym for 5 hours every day! She is still the nicest lady I ever knew.
