3/21/2005 - I've been living in Honoka'a since 1995 with my wife Gay, 4 dogs, 1 cat, 2 goats and a dozen chickens. The goats are weed control, the chickens are bug control. We eat neither. Besides the constant challenge of managing 3 1/2 acres of various edible plants including a variety of citrus, avocados, exotics and coffee, and remodeling our home, I recently acquired a new boat. So now that old dilemma keeps kicking in: work, or go fishing.
Prior to that I worked for Hawaiian Airlines for 23 years. I served in the Air Force for 3 years, which included an extended view of Viet Nam in 1967.
My son Jason is married and lives in Portland and my step-daughter Kristyl is married and living in Texas. Neither has slowed down enough to give me the grandkids I've been asking for.
When Gay and I got married I chose to take her name for reasons I'll explain to anyone who cares to ask. She is the CEO of a credit union and does a lot of sustainable community development work both locally and globally.Back to Top
