I graduated from the Naval Academy in 1968. After flight training, I married Ruth in 1969, and went to F-4 training in southern California at George AFB. I flew 248 combat missions in Vietnam with the 366 TFW in DaNang. After Vietnam, we went to Bitburg AB Germany, where I enjoyed flying with the 53rd TFS and touring Europe for 3 and a half years and our oldest son Richard was born. Richard graduated from Baylor University in 1995 and is currently branch manager of the Enterprise Rent A Car in Jackson, Mississippi. After Germany, I was an F-4 instructor at Homestead AFB, Florida. I resigned my commission in 1975 to go to Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Our second son, Daniel, was born in Fort Worth. Daniel is a senior at California State University Sacramento, majoring in graphic design and soccer. After graduating from seminary I pastored a church in Norman, Oklahoma. I accepted a recall to active duty in 1979 and returned to F-4 instructor duty at Homestead AFB. At Homstead I served as assistant pastor of a local church, while instructing fighter pilots and weapons systems operators, and teaching night classes for Saint Leo's College. I was selected as Tactical Air Command Instructor of the Year in 1981 prior to assignment to the staff at Headquarters U. S. Air Forces Europe. After three additional years touring Europe and planning flying exercises for headquarters, I took an instructor assignment to Mather AFB, California. After being medically grounded from flight duties, I directed the environmental programs until Mather was closed in 1993 at which time I retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. At Mather, Ruth and I were blessed with a daughter, Anna, in 1988. After retiring from the Air Force, I went to work for Law Engineering and Environmental Services as a environmental project manager. We stayed in Sacramento until January 1999 when we accepted a transfer to Law's San Diego office. We would enjoy hearing from any of you via e-mail. If you visit San Diego give me a call at Law's office, 858 278 3600.
