Updated - 11/8/2008 - about the picture above - "Yes that is a Cuban. The picture was taken while visiting Hungary last year with my son Andy (where my Mother's parents immigrated from in 1911).
Most of my growing up, rights of passage and best years were spent in Hawaii. From 4th through 7th grades went to Pearl Harbor Kai Elementary and Aliamanu Intermediate. Lived in Aliamanu on Wanaka Street back then. Returned to CA after 7th grade. In 9th grade my brother Jim and I started a rock n roll band, him on guitar and me on drums. We played with various bands before returning to Hawaii in my Jr. year to Radford and back to Likini Street in Aliamanu. Graduated in 64 and continued playing music until I got married in July of 65. My son Andy was born in January 66 at Kapiolani Hospital. Did a semester at UH and then a computer tech school in Honolulu after I got married. Returned to CA in the summer of 66. Became a sales rep for a commercial refrigeration company in St. Louis in 68, where my daughter Darlene was born in 71. Came back CA in 74, divorced in 82. Went back to school after the divorce and got a certificate in Drug & Alcohol counseling. After working as a counselor for 2 years I became the Executive Director of a non-profit drug & alcohol recovery program where I've been for the last 24 years. I'm still single, work just 4 days a week now, play a lot of golf and travel when I can. I'm also a huge boxing and MMA fan.
"Cool!" If anyone out there remembers me, feel free to e-mail me.
